Details

Felix Tann advises international companies on product launches, marketing and advertising campaigns and on the prosecution, defence and enforcement of their IP rights. He represents clients both in out-of-court advisory matters and in litigation and also advises on sustainability- and technology-related compliance questions.

Felix Tann studied law at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg and spent a semester abroad at the Centre for Transnational Legal Studies in London. His legal clerkship (Referendariat) at the Higher Regional Court of Celle included stations with Hogan Lovells (patent law) and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (IP/tech litigation). Alongside his work as an attorney, Felix Tann has served since December 2020 as a research associate and project coordinator for “Emerging Technologies” at the Center for Transnational IP, Media and Technology Law and Policy at Bucerius Law School. His doctoral dissertation, supervised by Prof. Dr. Dana Beldiman, examines the protection of artificial neural networks under IP and unfair competition law.

His advisory and research focus is reflected in his publishing, speaking and teaching activities. Felix Tann is editor of the Rechtshandbuch nachhaltigkeitsbezogene Werbung (C.H. Beck, 2026), the Rechtshandbuch Web3 (C.H. Beck, 2026) and The Law of Sustainability Claims (Edward Elgar, 2027), and publishes regularly in leading legal journals such as NJW, WRP, GRUR and GRUR-Prax on green claims, trade mark law and emerging technologies. As a lecturer at Bucerius Law School, he has taught courses including “Artificial Intelligence and the Law”, “Emerging Technologies” and “Sustainability and IP Law”. Together with Dr. Florian Stoll and Lars-Eric Appel, he co-leads the Beck Akademie seminar “Green Claims – Understanding and Safely Implementing the New Rules for Sustainability-Related Advertising”. He will deepen these focus areas from autumn 2026 through an LL.M. at the University of Michigan (Intellectual Property, Technology Law and Innovation) before returning to KNPZ. Felix Tann has been with KNPZ as an attorney since March 2026.
