Caroline Schmitt-Mücke advises companies in all areas of IT law, data protection law and in all areas of intellectual property and copyright law. One focus of her work is the support of complex M&A transactions with regard to IP/IT and data protection law issues.
Caroline Schmitt-Mücke studied law at the University of Greifswald,specialising in commercial, competition and media law, and at the Universitàdegli Studenti Sapienza in Rome. After her first state examination, she completed her doctorate in a binational procedure at the University of Greifswald and the Università degli Studenti in Pisa, where she was awarded a doctorate in bothcountries.
During her doctorate, Caroline Schmitt-Mücke worked in a major Hamburg law firm in the IP, Media and Technology (IPMT) department, specialising in trademark and competition law as well as platform regulation.
During her legal clerkship at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court, she worked at the Federal Office for Press and Information, at the Joint Office oft he Media Authorities, at a copyright chamber of the Hamburg Regional Court and at a major Hamburg law firm in the field of antitrust law and regulation as well as IPMT with a focus on press and media law.
Caroline Schmitt-Mücke is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR) and the German-Italian Lawyers' Association.
